To understand dosha, the corner stone of Ayurveda diagnosis and treatment, think first of the more familiar Western body types: ectomorph (light and slim), endomorph (heavy and soft) and mesomorph (husky and muscular).
The definitions of the doshas begin with similar physical description, then add layers of information about emotional tendencies, intellectual style and spiritual inclinations, creating a detailed portrait of each type of individual.

Learning about your is like getting a medical exam and a psychological test at the same time. When you understand your dosha, says Ayurvedic practitioners, you can make diet and lifestyle changes that will help you live a healthier, longer and happier life – and maybe even achieve spiritual illumination.

“The most important thing to know about Ayurveda is that it treats the whole person, not just the person’s health problems,” says Robert E. Svoboda, B.A.M.S., an American who graduated from the Tilak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, an Ayurvedic school in Pune, India, and who now works with the Ayurvedic Institute, a training center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “It isn’t just about clearing up symptoms or even curing disease. It’s also about
restructuring the content of a person’s consciousness so that he can be aware of the essential nature and meaning of life.

  1. Also you’ll get extra points for remembering that ayurveda is an old tradition that of course has been overtaken by modern medicine.

It has some interesting myths and there’s only a few people who still believe this old remnant of history has any truth to it, modern Indians go to the doctors like everyone else!

  2. Heres a link regarding it.

Dave-if herbs dont work and are only a myth then why dont you go out and pick yourself and eat a whole bunch of Atropa Belladonna(deadly nightshade)? Afterall-if they have no effects then nothing will happen & it should be fine for you to do that right?
Also,if herbs have no physiological effect then why would someone need to make sure that it has no herbs added before they take a high overdose of Homeopathy to test Homeopathies effects-afterall if herbs are B.S too then why take the safety precautions?
I’ll be waiting for your edit from the hospital bed after you’ve taken the Atropa Belladonna.
Just make sure that you add a copy of your hospital report proving that you did take the herb/berry.
